TTL vs. Manual Recycle Times | Transcription I'm not going to keep beating you over the head with this Well, yeah. I actually I'm going to keep beating you over the head with this. Let's talk about this The Canon OC-E3 Off Camera Shoe Cord maintains all on-camera flash functions including E-TTL / E-TTL II for one Canon Speedlite used off-camera at distances up to 2'. It is compatible with all Canon EOS cameras except the EOS 630 and EOS RT which require a combination of TTL Hot Shoe Adapter 3, OA-2 Off Camera Shoe Adapter, and Connecting Cord 60. I have found it to be pretty simple and easy to use with my current method but want to try off camera flash with possibly two Godox V860II that I can use either manual or TTL. My big questions are: How many shoot OCF at weddings? (I do use it for formals only currently) Thoughts on TTL vs. manual? (I shoot manual now, but adjust frequently) What's even better is that it has a receiver built in that works with the R2 transmitter (the one used for the Flashpoint Xplor 600) meaning you can either put the flash directly on your camera, or you can use it as an off camera flash with the R2 transmitter! There are manual and TTL versions of this flash. Someone with a D60 or access to the instruction manual might be able to confirm this, but some Nikon dSLRs and flash units have an "FV Lock" feature that can minimize some of the variables associated with TTL flash. Usually Nikon's TTL flash works very well, but there are situations where it can be fooled. Canon's DSLR cameras use a pre flash to determine the correct flash exposure, a system known as E-TTL. Way back in time, Canon EOS film cameras used a system called TTL flash where the flash was metered off the film surface during the actual exposure.
