Sunshineman - Saturday 8am-10am - 'Super Saturday Breakfast' - jazz, funk, soul, disco, and a touch of house
Born in Hemel Hempstead, Herts, his first show on 89.8 Station FM was 8 to 10am on Saturday 8th January 2005. His real passion is mid 70's to mid 80's jazz/funk, soul, boogie and disco, and really got into the music when he heard and bought The Three Degrees "When Will I see You Again" and Sweet Sensations' "Sad Sweet Dreamer" in 1974. Sunshineman was persuaded by a friend to join Hospital Radio playing mostly mainstream and traditional jazz.
It was thanks to Hospital Radio that Sunshineman had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing for his shows hundreds of the greatest names in black music.... the list really is endless but includes The Commodores, Light Of The World, Rose Royce, Third World, Jean Carne, Marlena Shaw, Randy Crawford, Sharon Redd, Fats Domino, Buddy Rich and Lonnie Liston Smith.
He first met Roy Ayers backstage at a London concert in 1984, they became good friends, and for the next 12 years he ran the UK Fan Club.
